Do I Need PayPal Website Payments Pro?

No.

Website Payments Standards is fine – but your account type should be “business”

If you are selling B2C as well as B2B then it is useful to have a personal PayPal account to test your B2C transactions.

What Type Of PayPal Account Do I Need?

Account Type

You can use SubscriptionBoss with either a Business or a Premier PayPal account. You cannot use SubscriptionBoss with a Personal PayPal Account.

You need to have a Business or Premier PayPal Account in order to be able to use PayPal Express Checkout which is the mechanism the plugin uses to take payment.

PayPal do not charge to upgrade to a Business or Premier PayPal Account; all you need to do is go through some further validation steps with PayPal as regards the ownership of the account.

Also SubscriptionBoss works with either PayPal Website Payments Standard (which is free), Paypal Website Payments Pro or PayPal Payflow Pro (neither of which is free)

SubscriptionBoss uses the PayPal Express Checkout API; it does NOT use the PayPal Adaptive Payments API so it cannot split payments with direct contributions to multiple vendors or pay commissions directly through PayPal.

With SubscriptionBoss you need to use the Infusionsoft Affiliate system to handle affiliate payments.

How Much Is Your Setup Service?

Anyone who had already set up an Infusionsoft account to process payments and follow-up sequences should be able to follow our instructions and do the configuration themselves. This is the lowest cost option.

If you need help, you can either hire a qualified Infusionsoft consultant (CMAC), or you can hire us to do the setup.

We charge a rate of $180 per hour for Infusionsoft consultancy or offer a fixed price once we have understood your Infusionsoft environment and the number and complexity of the subscriptions you want to set up.

How Does The Licensing Work?

When you buy the SubscriptionBoss plugin you are licensing the software for one domain only.

But one domain will be enough if you have one PayPal business account and one installation of Infusionsoft.

Our suggestion is to pick your primary or company domain for the plugin

You can drive sales using forms and links from any sales site to your primary domain that integrates PayPal to Infusionsoft.

And the sales sites can be on any platform: WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, PHP, ASPX, a Facebook fan page, an iPhone App: anything that can send an HTML form or host an HTML link

What If I Need A Feature That’s Not In The Plugin?

You can let us know what you need and if we think the feature will be of general benefit to users, we will add it to our development schedule and if approved, you will receive the enhancement to the plugin in a future release.

The features we have added for users so far are:

  • Added Secondary IPN Listener for Todd
  • Added Refund Action Set Invocation for Todd
  • Extended payment matching to handle multiple products orders for Sean
  • Added API Certificates for Eric

All of the above enhancements were implemented within a week of the request being raised.

We are happy to add new features to the plugin at no cost providing they are of general benefit. If a feature is too specialized or beyond the scope of the plugin then we will mostly likely propose a standalone solution and will provide you with a quotation if we believe we can be of help.

How Do I Get Support?

We will support you in the use of the plugin for as long as you are a customer. We cannot offer free support for setting up your Infusionsoft account however, we will however support all aspects of the plugin software.

Once you buy the plugin, you get access to a private membership site where you can ask questions in a support forum.

Is The Plugin Difficult To Set Up?

We provide step by step instructions regarding the setup of the plugin and your Infusionsoft and PayPal accounts. If the setup is something you’d rather not do, you can hire a qualified Infusionsoft consultant, (a CMAC) to do it for you, or you can hire us to do the setup for you.

It should take between 1 and 2 hours depending on your requirements.
